Serca is a boutique vineyard, located in Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina. It was born as a result of longtime dream that Sergio and Carolina Weitzman had of creating an ultra high quality wine that fully expresses the spirit and essence of Malbec. Serca is a 6-acre vineyard divided into two parcels. A 3-acre area located at 1,300 meters above sea level will produce high quality Malbec grapes to create a Premium Plus and a Super Premium Malbec. The other 3 acres are located at 1,150 meters above sea level and will produce Super/Ultra Premium, Malbec, Syrah and Cabernet Franc grapes to eventually create a wine that will include all three varietals.
Our wines will evolve under the careful watch of the talented and experienced winemaker, Pablo Martorell, along with the collaboration of various consulting winemakers, agronomists and countless other industry professionals.
We will only produce 900 bottles of an intense, yet elegant wine in 2012. The first 600 bottles of our Premium Plus quality Malbec will be aged in French oak barrels for 10 months with a target release date of August of 2013. The first 300 bottles of our Ultra Premium wine will be aged in French oak barrels for 18 to24 months before becoming available.
